As fall has started to set in, the iliad literary-art magazine staff has been hard at work. While August was focused on tying up tasks from the 2020-2021 school year, such as sending out magazines to our donors. September has been filled with preparation for magazine production.

To start the month and help spread awareness of the brand, the iliad Leadership Team spent a class period in the Clarke Central High School Mell Auditorium selling copies of the 2021 edition of the iliad, “OKEANOS” and gaining followers for Instagram.

In addition, I along with my other Editor-in-Chief, Kaija Gilbertson Hall, presented at the ODYSSEY Media Group Booster Club meeting as ambassadors of our program. Here, we showcased our program and what parents are putting their money toward, as well as present the rebranding of the iliad.

The first step in the rebranding process was finalizing the logo, which was completed at the end of August. If you are an avid follower of the iliad, you may have noticed that our website is in disarray. We have spent the last month meticulously planning the redesign of the website.

We also spent additional time gathering and curating content to fill our online page. Within the next two weeks, we hope to have our new website finally up and running so, be on the lookout for the new web page.

Currently, we are developing the theme for the upcoming magazine. This has involved an extensive brainstorming process and the creation of detailed mood boards and presentations detailing our visions for our ideas. Additionally, our Editorial Board members will soon be speaking to classes to gain submissions for this year’s magazine, and submission posters have been created.

As we look to this next month, we cannot wait to begin the production of the magazine and starting our weekly club meetings on Oct. 12. More information about club meetings will be coming soon on our Facebook and Instagram for all those who are interested. We would love to have anyone as part of our team, and we thank you all for your support.
